The first verse took five minutes to write while verse number two fell into place around six months later. Maybe you can say that the song is about not wanting something to end – that something being… a romance, an evening… or maybe just a moment. As with many songs I write, this one came to depict a rather specific situation, or scene, which may actually be a metaphor for something much bigger.
